CASS COUNTY FAMILY YMCA NEWS
Local Hero Wins Free Membership
The next time you see Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Armstrong, congratulate him on winning the 2016 Cass County Family YMCA’s Local Hero Contest! He was nominated by his daughter Karli. I’ll let her do all the talking:
Karli says of her father: “ From saving me from spiders or childhood nightmares to saving Cass County from all the bad guys, Gary Armstrong has always been a true superhero. He’s been in law enforcement for over 25 years and has been changing lives ever since he first put on a uniform. One of the most admirable qualities my father has is he’s always helping others, even when he’s not wearing his badge. There have been countless times where we’ve been out as a family while he’s off duty, and he has pulled over to help someone having car troubles or some other kind of difficulty. He’s always willing to put his life on hold to help others. He faces a chance of not coming home every time he puts a uniform on, but he never fails to put others in front of him anyways. With everything that’s been going on in the world lately, it’s important that we still show support and appreciation for all of the hard-working officers out there. Gary Armstrong is an accurate representation of what a real superhero should be.”
We couldn’t agree more, Gary! So, come on in and claim your prize: A free year of membership to the Cass County Family YMCA! And thank you for your service.

THE COUNTRY!
Another great reason
The Y movement is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
We want to encourage members to utilize the Y as often as they can. Sometimes, it’s more convenient for members to utilize a Y in a different location when traveling, near a workplace or in another region.
Now, full facility/full privilege YMCA members have the flexibility to use other Y facilities throughout all 50 states and Puerto Rico at no extra charge.
HOW IT WORKS
Simply present your active YMCA membership card and photo ID at any participating YMCA and enjoy free access. See complete Program Details below.

The Y: Idle Hands
Where do kids go when there’s nowhere to go? What do they do when there’s nothing to do? Kids will be kids, and idle hands will get to work one way or another. But if we give kids a place to go where they can be safe, where they can be curious, where they can be kids, then they’re capable of amazing things. The Y is America’s community space—providing recreation, education, nutrition, a place to belong, camp and outdoor exploration, character development and more.
Your donation makes it possible for more kids to have a safe place to learn and grow. Together, we can make our communities better.
